Moment of Silence for ‘Colectiv’

Televiziunea Română (TVR) opened a submission period for artists and composers to submit their entries between 8th and 10th of February 2016 to the Selecția Națională. A jury panel made up of music professionals rated all songs, revealing their 12 finalists on the 11th of February 2016.

The National semi-final held on 4th of March 2016, Ovidiu Anton qualified for the final in the first place, receiving 54 points from the jury; two days later on the 6th of March 2016, Ovidiu Anton and his pop-rock ballad was chosen to represent Romania at Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden, with 6,585 public votes.

 

“Moment of Silence” is a song recorded, written and composed by the Romanian singer Ovidiu Anton. The production was handled by Liviu Sorescu.

“Moment of Silence” acts as a homage to the victims of the 2015 Colectiv nightclub fire.
